On the Wing - original abstract alcohol ink painting Angel Whispers

This alcohol ink painting, with its main colors of blue, pink, and gold, was made as a tribute to Archangel Metatron, an angel in Judaism. Archangel Metatron was the first angel that I interacted with, though I didn’t recognize it at the time. When I was young, I used to try to hide any characteristics or emotions that I thought would keep people from loving me. Anger was an emotion that I saw frequently in others, and it scared me. One day I was blinded by rage at my sister, throwing anything I could get my hands on at her to get her out of my room. Afterward, I lay down on my bed and cried. As I lay there, in my mind’s eye I was surrounded by fluffy pink clouds, and I felt the physical sensation of a hug reassure me. At the time, I thought of it as a hug from God, but given that the angels work on His behalf, I wasn’t far off. I enjoy working with this medium because the fluid alcohol inks interact in unpredictable and uncontrolled ways, allowing space for a touch of the unexpected.
